• Life Cycle – Moths undergo complete metamorphosis, consisting of four stages: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa (chrysalis or cocoon), and adult. The larval stage is normally the feeding stage, where the caterpillar consumes food before pupating.
• Feeding Habits – Moths have a wide variety of feeding habits. Some moths feed on nectar, similar to butterflies, while others don’t feed at all as adults, focusing on reproduction during their short adult lifespan.
• Diversity – There is a wide diversity of moth species, with a wide variety of sizes, colours, and patterns. Some are brightly coloured, and others have more muted tones for camouflage.
