Squirrels In The Loft

We understood that it was likely that Mr R of Shoreditch could have an infestation of squirrels in his loft area, and with the change in the weather it was obvious that they had sought shelter.  It was imperative to attend the site as soon as possible, as squirrels can cause a lot of damage to property, and an infestation of squirrels needs to be dealt with quickly to bring the situation under control.  It was arranged with Mr R that we would attend the same morning of his initial call.

On arrival at the shop, it was immediately ascertained from climbing into the loft space that this wasn’t a lone squirrel, as at least 3 scarpered in different directions when we climbed in.

To resolve the squirrel infestation meant a two-pronged approach, firstly to bait the loft space to eradicate any squirrels.  Secondly to ascertain where the squirrels were gaining access and seal this to prevent further infestations. The baiting of all areas was carried out that day and an appointment was made to return a few days later to check on progress.

On the initial return visit Mr R reported that he hadn’t heard any noise, but he had waited for us to check the loft space.  When we inspected the squirrel traps in the loft space, we found five squirrels, which were removed from the shop.  The squirrel traps were then re-baited, a repair was made to the soffit as this is where the squirrels had gained access to ensure no further access could be gained and again, we arranged to revisit a few days later.  On our final visit we again checked the loft space and was pleased to inform Mr R that no further squirrel activity was found, and the squirrel infestation had been bought under control.
