The Problem / The Challenge:
When Mrs K, head of housekeeping arrived at the Studio Apartments based in Hoxton on Sunday morning, she noticed a large amount of mouse droppings in one of the rooms. Mrs K immediately alerted her team and told them to be vigilant as they prepared the 30 studio apartments for guest changeover. With the cleaners starting to clean their allocated rooms, it wasn’t long before Mrs K heard one of her team scream out when a mouse run across the floor that she was cleaning. It was quickly apparent to Mrs K that there was likely to be more than one mouse. This was due to the vast number of droppings found within the rooms and that they had been found on different levels of the building.
With the housekeeping due to be completed within the hour for the new guest check-ins, the situation needed to be dealt with so Mrs K phoned the owner of the building immediately. It was then that Mr P the owner of the building gave me a call and we arranged an urgent visit.
The Pest2Kill Solution:
We understood that it was imperative to attend the site immediately, as the problem needed to be dealt with prior to the new guest’s arrival, so an emergency visit was arranged. Within 30 minutes of the initial call we attended the studio apartments in Hoxton, London. It was immediately apparent with signs of mouse activity in most rooms that this was a large infestation. It was going to need an intensive programme to treat the mice infestation and make the Studios safe once again.
With the studios being fully booked, it was imperative to the client to carry out the works with minimum disruption to the staff and staying guests. To accommodate this our technicians worked around the check-out and check-in times of guests. Timing their visits within the empty period each day to treat and bring the infestation under control and to ensure no guests were exposed to the situation. Once the initial 7-day intense monitoring programme was completed the studios were once again mice free.
