Fly Infestation In Apartments

We understood that it was imperative to attend the site immediately, as the problem needed to be dealt with before the flies caused further infestation to the apartment.

Having established from Mr W the lettings manager that there were further viewings booked in for the next day, it was imperative to the client to carry out the works with minimum disruption to the landlord, with any infestation needing to be dealt with so the rental viewings of the apartment were not delayed.  Mr W met us at the property so we could gain access, it was there that the problem was discovered to be much worse than a few flies flying around.  It was quickly determined that this was a very serious fly infestation, there were so many on the kitchen work top it looked like the whole worktop was moving.  There were so many it was hard to work out that there was a rotten bowl of fruit on the kitchen worktop.  When we advised the lettings manager, he said must have been left by the previous tenant who had vacated 3 weeks prior

A Chemical treatment was required on the skirtings, floors, cupboards, and worktops, throughout the apartment to eradicate any larvae.  A second fogging fumigation treatment was also carried out to destroy any airborne flies. Due to the strength of the chemicals used once the treatments are carried out there should be no access to the property for a minimum of 3 hours.  As the property was currently vacant this wasn’t an issue, so the treatments were completed that morning.  The following day we contacted Mr W to ensure that the treatment had been successful, he confirmed that his cleaning team had arrived that morning and the infestation had been eradicated.
